Andrea Nelson

Andrea Nelson is EVP, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for The Cigna Group^®. In this role, Andrea serves as a member of the Enterprise Leadership Team and leads the company’s global legal, compliance and enterprise risk functions.

Since joining The Cigna Group in 2016, Andrea has guided the company through significant mergers and acquisitions, high profile litigation, and complex regulatory challenges. Most recently serving as Chief Legal Officer, she previously served as SVP, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Counsel for both Evernorth^® and Cigna Healthcare^®. Prior to joining The Cigna Group, Andrea was the General Counsel of a privately held pharmacy services company and an associate at a large law firm.

Andrea holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Washington University in St. Louis and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Literature from the University of California, Santa Barbara. A passionate advocate for healthcare access and affordability, she currently serves on the board of The Cigna Group Foundation.
