Brian Evanko

Brian Evanko serves as President and Chief Operating Officer (COO), The Cigna Group^SM. In this role, Evanko has responsibility for all of the company’s business units. The company’s two industry-leading growth platforms, Cigna Healthcare^SM and Evernorth Health Services^®, serve employers, individuals, health plans, expatriates, and government agencies within the U.S. and in over 30 countries worldwide. He is a member of the Enterprise Leadership Team of The Cigna Group.

Prior to this role, Evanko was President and Chief Executive Officer of Cigna Healthcare and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of The Cigna Group. In this dual role, he led Cigna Healthcare’s portfolio of health benefits businesses – U.S. Employer, International Health, and U.S. Government. As CFO for The Cigna Group, he was responsible for the financial operations and functions, investment management, and underwriting units across the company.

From 2017-2021, Evanko led Cigna Healthcare's U.S. Government business, which included Medicare Advantage, Government Pharmacy, Medicaid, Individual and Family Plans (IFP), and Cigna Supplemental Benefits (CSB).

Evanko joined the company's Finance organization in 1998 and has served in a number of financial leadership roles in the company’s U.S. and International businesses, including relocations to the company’s offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Hartford, Connecticut, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Evanko earned a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Pennsylvania State University and holds the FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries), MAAA (Member of the American Academy of Actuaries) and CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designations. He serves on the Board of Directors for TriNet (NYSE: TNET), a leading provider of comprehensive human resources solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. Additionally, he serves as Vice Chair of the Executive Committee of the Board and leads the Finance Committee of the Connecticut Science Center, the state’s foremost institution focused on lifelong learning through science.

As a marathon runner, Evanko has been instrumental in the partnership between The Cigna Group and Achilles International and has served as a race guide for runners with disabilities at the Walt Disney World^® and Marine Corps Marathons.
