We believe that employers play a key role in the health care system, and we strive to be a model for others by prioritizing the health and vitality of employees within our own company. We are advancing our diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments; continuing to evolve our employee programs to meet the dynamic working environment; and supporting our employees in their career growth as they support the growth of our business.

What We're Doing

Employee Health, Safety, and Vitality

Our employee well-being benefits programs are designed to provide holistic support for our employees and their families. Our Occupational Health and Safety Policy outlines our occupational health and safety framework, including governance, worker participation, hazard identification and assessment, education and training, and continuous improvement.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Within Our Workforce

We recognize that our continued success depends on the collective strengths of our employees. At The Cigna Group℠, our individual differences represent a mosaic of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives that enable us to deliver on our mission and to innovate solutions that resonate with our customers, partners, and communities.

Human Capital Development

A healthy and diverse global workforce is essential to achieving our mission and our business growth strategies. We are continually investing in our global workforce with fair and market competitive pay, as well as fostering employee growth and development.

Where We're Going

Our people are the heart of our company—without them, none of the important work we do would be possible. To support our employees’ vitality, effective January 1, 2023, we expanded our caregiver leave program, doubling from four to eight weeks of paid leave available for employees to bond with a child or care for a family member with a serious health condition.

We are also strengthening our DEI strategy with a focus on continuing to drive business integration, creating sustainability and shared ownership of DEI, and evolving to a culture not only focused on inclusion, but one of belonging across the enterprise. We believe this will enable our collective vision of a better future built on the vitality of every individual and every community.

We were ranked #14 on Fair360’s (formerly known as DiversityInc) Top 50 Companies for Diversity and recognized as one of the Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality in 2022 by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. We also scored 100% on the 2022 Disability Equality Index for the eighth year in a row.
